The Ducks announced today that the club has acquired center Joel Perrault and a third-round selection in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft from the Canucks in exchange for centers Maxim Lapierre and MacGregor Sharp.

The Blue Jackets have acquired centers Greg Moore and Michael Chaput from the Flyers in exchange for left wing Tom Sestito, Blue Jackets Executive Vice President and GM Scott Howson announced today. Moore will be assigned to the AHL?s Springfield Falcons, while Chaput is currently playing with Lewiston of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

Mitchell will report to the Connecticut Whale (AHL). Mitchell, 26, has registered 20 goals and 35 assists for 55 points in 159 career regular season contests in three seasons with the Maple Leafs.

The Capitals have acquired defenseman Dennis Wideman from the Panthers for prospect Jake Hauswirth and a third-round pick in this year?s draft, according to an Associated Press report.

The Kings, desperate for a top-six forward, landed big-bodied winger Dustin Penner from the Oilers on Monday, as reported by ESPN.com. The Oilers get the Kings' first-round draft pick in 2011, prospect Colten Teubert and a conditional second- or third-round draft pick in 2012.

The Sabres have made a bold move in advance of the NHL trade deadline, acquiring sniper Brad Boyes from the Blues for a second-round pick in 2011, according to an Associated Press report.

Ellis, 30, has appeared in 142 career NHL games with Tampa Bay, Nashville and Dallas, going 63-49-14 with a 2.71 goals-against average (GAA), .907 save percentage (SV%), and 12 shutouts. McElhinney, 27, posted a 6-9-1 record with two shutouts, a 3.43 GAA and .890 SV% in 21 appearances for Anaheim this season. A native of Calgary Alberta, McElhinney set career highs in wins, shutouts and appearances in 2010-11.

The Avalanche announced tonight that the team has acquired defenseman Erik Johnson, forward Jay McClement and a first-round pick in either the 2011 or 2012 NHL Entry Draft from the Blues. In return, the Avalanche gave up the services of defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk, forward Chris Stewart and a second-round selection in either 2011 or 2012. ?We are excited to be adding a top young defenseman in this league, a player who will have an impact on our blue line for several years to come,? said Avalanche GM/Executive Vice President Greg Sherman. ?In addition, Jay McClement brings six years of NHL experience and will compliment our young hockey club. McClement has collected 16 points while appearing in all 56 games for the Blues this season. St. Louis? first pick (second round, 57th overall) in the 2001 Entry Draft, McClement has spent his entire career with the Blues, tallying 156 points in 449 NHL games.
